A member of the British Institute for Learning Disabilities (BILD), Unicorn Projects support service users to exercise choice, integrate into the community and develop living skills.
Staff are trained to high standard through NVQ and "in house" courses. Our emphasis is upon managing challenging behaviour, encouraging social inclusion, building relationships and developing everyday living skills. It is through these achievements we feel that service users have an opportunity to fulfil their full potential and experience a high quality of life.
Our services at present include two registered residential care homes, a day service in central Croydon and a supported living development which will be ready for tenants to take occupancy in 2009. |

Fees vary according to need and there is a four week trial. There is 24 Hour Health & Social Care support, a private room and person centred care planning at all times. For further information contact the Home Manager or request a copy of the service users guide.
Service users initially live at Unicorn House for a trial period of 4 weeks. These offers are subject to initial assessment by the Home Manager and senior staff. After the trial is completed a review is conducted to ascertain whether needs have been met. In the event that all is satisfactory and the service user agrees, a contract will be issued clearly defining terms and costs of residency.
Unicorn House will arrange holidays and ensure that service users are supported by staff during that time. Holidays can be abroad or in the UK, wherever service users choose to go.
Review meetings are 6 monthly. This is to ensure the best interest of the service user are maintained. In the event of needs changing care plans are reviewed sooner.
